CS2 Vote Kick Guide: How to Remove Disruptive Players
Understanding when and how to vote kick players in CS2 is essential for maintaining a positive gaming environment. Here's everything you need to know about the process.
A vote kick is CS2's democratic system that allows teams to remove disruptive players through majority voting. This feature helps deal with griefers, AFK players, or toxic teammates.
How to Initiate a Vote Kick:
- Enable and Open Console
- Go to Settings > Game > Enable Developer Console (~)
- Press the tilde (~) key to open console
- Find Player ID
- Press Tab to open scoreboard
- Note the ID number next to target player
- Enter Command
- Type: callvote kick [Player ID]
- Example: callvote kick 3
- Vote Process
- Team members vote using F1 (yes) or F2 (no)
- Majority required for kick to succeed
Important Considerations:
Valid Reasons for Kicking:
- Extended AFK periods
- Intentional griefing/team killing
- Refusal to cooperate
- Excessive toxicity
Consequences:
- Team plays with one less player
- Bot replacement in Competitive mode
- Possible penalties for kicked player
Alternatives to Consider:
- Mute toxic players via scoreboard
- Report serious violations to Valve
- Communicate with team first
Best Practices:
- Only kick for legitimate reasons
- Consider impact on team performance
- Avoid abuse of the system
- Use as last resort
Remember that kicking creates a numerical disadvantage, so ensure the situation warrants removing a teammate before initiating a vote.
