CSGO's Incendiary Grenade: The Counter-Terrorist's Fire-Starting Tool
The Incendiary Grenade is a Counter-Terrorist exclusive weapon in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that costs $500. It serves as the CT counterpart to the Terrorist's Molotov.

Key Features:
- Creates a pool of fire that deals increasing damage from 1 to 8 per tick
- Deals 40 damage per second with 100% armor penetration
- Burns for exactly 7.03 seconds
- Can be extinguished by smoke grenades
- Explodes on surfaces less than 30 degrees from horizontal
- Bounces off steeper surfaces
- Dissipates if airborne for more than 2 seconds
Tactical Uses:
- Block choke points to disrupt enemy movement
- Deny access to important areas like bombsites
- Flush out enemies from camping positions
- Prevent bomb defusal when thrown on planted C4
- Create temporary defensive barriers
Counter-Strike 2 Changes:
- Smaller fire radius compared to the Molotov since the "Fire Sale" update
- Reduced area coverage while maintaining damage output
Tips:
- Multiple overlapping flames stack damage
- At least one-third of flames must be covered by smoke to extinguish
- Longer weapon switch time after throwing
- Can damage teammates and hostages
- Effective for both offensive and defensive strategies
The Incendiary Grenade uses a flammable liquid rather than white phosphorus, making it distinct from real-world military incendiary grenades. While similar to the Molotov, it provides Counter-Terrorists with a reliable area denial tool for both attack and defense scenarios.
